In Branschnytt issue 13, we had a conversation with Matthias Lindholm, chairman of Cleaning industry Sweden. Here, you as the reader gain insight into the valuable work that the Cleaning Industry carries out and which issues are currently relevant.

The Cleaning Industry Sweden is a non-profit, independent industry organization that drives important issues and projects that develop and strengthen the cleaning industry's position in society. The organization has existed since 2013 and currently has around 650 members. Matthias Lindholm has served as chairman since 2017 and has over 25 years of experience in the industry.

The cleaning industry in Sweden is a nationwide industry organization. What value do you bring to the industry and on How do you help your members today?

We are working on the industry's most important issues to disseminate valuable knowledge and information to our members. Today, our members consist of cleaning companies, cleaning suppliers, and municipalities, which means we are very close to reality. We on the board all work in various ways within the cleaning industry, which gives us constant insight into what is happening in the market and what affects the various members' operations, says Matthias Lindholm.

Our organization supports our members in a variety of operational matters, such as leadership issues regarding what applies in different employments and contexts. Our members also gain access to valuable digital documents, such as key performance indicator calculations for felling rates and training literature with advice and instructions. In addition to this, we support purchasing centers such as Adda and Kammarkollegiet on how the requirement setting for cleaning services should look in a public procurement.

There are many reasons to be a member of the cleaning industry. Membership supports your own company while strengthening the industry – we become one unit, and the more of us there are, the stronger we become on various issues.

What are the most current issues at The cleaning industry in Sweden right now?

The unhealthy competition within the cleaning industry will remain high on the agenda as there are still companies that win contracts with unreasonably low bids.

We will also be present at several important meeting places throughout the year. For example, at Almedalen Week, where we will discuss exactly how criminal activities can be countered in our industry and in public procurement. You will also see us at both the Stora Städchefsdagen on September 12–13 and the Clean & Facility trade fair in Kista on November 10–11. Here we welcome everyone in the industry for discussions; we are receptive and grateful for questions that can be pursued and elevated further, Matthias concludes.

”There are many reasons to be a member of the cleaning industry. Membership supports your own company while also strengthening the industry – we become a unit, and the more of us there are, the stronger we become on various issues.”
